Lucy Tomer Chief Executive Officer Lucy Tomer is in her fourth year involved with Destination Auction, and she is proud to be operating as its CEO. She volunteered for Silent Auction her freshman year, and then worked as Director of Solicitations and Director of Marketing her sophomore and junior years. She is a senior at Michigan State University and will be graduating in May 2020 from the Honors College with Hospitality Business as her major and Spanish as her minor. She completed internships at Gull Lake Country Club, Greenleaf Hospitality Group, Breslin Student Events Center and most recently, at Rolls-Royce on their Civil Aerospace Customer Team in Reston, VA. She hope to move on after MSU to a position in either sales/marketing or another customer-facing role. She’s excited for Destination Auction "Expand Your Universe" and cannot wait to see how the board works together to execute a successful event!" |
Audrie Smith Chief operating officer Audrie Smith is currently a Senior in The School of Hospitality Business from Northville, Michigan. Last year, she held the position of Co-Director of Solicitations for Auction and is honored to be part of the executive board again this year as Chief Operations Officer! Aside from Destination Auction, Audrie is also the Director of Student Engagement for the Society for Hospitality and Foodservice management club on campus and an active member in the American Hotel and Lodging Association. She recently completed her level 1 and level 2 internships as a Pastry Chef at Cantoro’s Italian Market and as a management intern at Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises. After graduation, Audrie strives to pursue a job in the food and beverage industry. She is very excited to make Destination Auction 2020 a success! |
Sam Webb Chief Financial Officer Samantha Webb is currently a senior in The School of Hospitality Business and is from Troy, MI. Her sophomore year, she volunteered in Destination Auction as a food and beverage assistant. Last year, she was Co-Director of Sponsorships, and absolutely loved it. Sam is very excited to be part of the Executive Board for another year as Chief Financial Officer! Sam is also an active member in Kappa Delta sorority, and MSU Lions Club. Aside from classes, she also works for University Advancement in the records department. In her spare time, she loves working out and cooking. This summer, she completed her Level Two internship with Continental as an Event Operations Manager. Sam is still exploring all of the options within Hospitality Business, but is interested in the event planning industry. She is very excited to be involved with Auction for a third year with a great team, and is looking forward to a great school year! |
Brook Remick Director, live Auction Brooke Remick is a junior at Michigan State University majoring in Hospitality Business. She has volunteered for destination auction in the past, but this will be her first year on the executive board. She has worked in food service since the age of 14, and it’s the path she sees herself taking after graduation. This summer she interned as a Food and Beverage shift lead in Yellowstone National Park. Along with being apart of the Destination Auction e-board, she is a banquet server at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, and she will be joining the e board of the Society for Foodservice Management (SHFM) club here at Michigan State. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, trying new food, and walking her dog. Brooke is excited to have a great year with the Destination Auction team and help to make it a successful and enjoyable event. Kailey Konkle Director, Catalog Kailey isf born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The past two years she has spent her time as a banquet server and manager intern right in East Lansing at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center! This is her first year being a part of auction and she is so excited to help make this amazing event come together. |
Natalie Keshemberg Director, silent auction Natalie Keshemberg is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and has been a swimmer at MSU for her time here in undergrad. She’s had three different internships ranging from event planning, working on a cruise ship and this past summer working in healthcare sales. She’s just recently accepted a full time position with Abbott Labs for after graduation and will be moving to Columbus. Her current career goal is to go into Medical Device Marketing. She’s super excited to be apart of DA because of the opportunities to network with her fellow peers and those she would come across while building her skills in her career Kaelin Denhartog Director, Catalog My name is Kaelin Den Hartog and I am from Huntington Beach, California. I am a junior at Michigan State and this is my first year on the Destination Auction E-board as one of the Directors of Catalog. This past summer I worked at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach as a food and beverage intern. Last year, I volunteered for Destination Auction and I loved the environment and energy of the room and decided to become a member of the E-Board. I am very excited for this opportunity and this year's auction! |
Ashley Lawrence director, event design Ashley Lawrence is from San Jose, California, where she has spent her past summers doing internships or planning her sisters’ wedding. She’s joined clubs, a sorority and has studied abroad in London Her level one internship was in sports and entertainment as a Fan Development Intern and this past summer she interned in corporate event with a cybersecurity company called Palo Alto Networks as their Global Events Intern. She has accepted a full-time position with Palo Alto Networks as their Global Events Coordinator. She plans to continue to stay in the corporate events world. She loves destination auction as its a great experience for every student who runs/works it and it raises money for the school of Hospitality Business and local non-profits. Destination Auction gives Hospitality Business students many opportunities to travel and learn more about the hospitality industry. Emily Deese director, Human Resources Emily is a Junior from Midland, MI. She plans on graduating in the spring of 2020 as an HB business major with a minor in Entrepreneurship. This past summer, Emily had the opportunity to intern in front desk, reservations, and guest services at the Iroquois Hotel on Mackinac Island; a place she had come to love while volunteering 6 years for the State Park as an Honor Scout. Outside of Destination Auction, Emily enjoys researching possible vacation destinations, traveling, photography, and trivia. She looks forward to owning her own hospitality businesses and is excited about providing unique, memorable experiences for her guests based on learnings from her own wanderlust. Emily is excited to be part of Destination Auction and looks forward to what hospitality opportunities will be offered in the 2019 event. |
Max Valenti Director, solicitations Max is a sophomore from Northville, Michigan. He has completed his level 1 internship at the Hyatt Place Detroit/Livonia. In terms of future goals he wishes to partake in the Disney college program and his dream is to become the General Manager of one of the Walt Disney World resorts (preferably the boardwalk resort). Destination Auction is a fantastic organization and he is honored to act as the Director of Solicitations, and promises to put his best foot forward. Nate Rose Director, Food and beverage Nathanial Rose is a senior from Toledo, Ohio in The School of Hospitality Business and is expecting to graduate in May of 2019. This is his second year of involvement in Destination Auction, previously he was the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. Nathanial completed his internship at the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, Michigan. Along with being a member of the Destination Auction team, he is also an active member of the American Hotel and Lodging Association. In the future he looks forward to a career in Resort Management. |

Maddie studies Hospitality Business with a minor in Spanish. This is Maddie’s second year of involvement with Destination Auction, previously she was the Assistant Director of Catalog. She completed her first internship working for Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio and her second internship working for Hilton at The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida. In addition to Destination Auction, Maddie has studied abroad in Valencia, Spain, she has been a site leader for Alternative Spartan Breaks, she enjoys volunteering with Spartans Rebuilding Michigan, obsessing over her cat, and works as a fitness class assistant on campus. She is looking forward to putting on a great event! |
Kyle Luce Director, sponsorships Kyle is a junior majoring in finance and doing a minor in sales leadership. He studied abroad in Rome for 8 weeks this past summer. He worked with a local community service group supplying food to migrants seeking asylum. Studied international communications and sales at accent university. Marina Beale Director, marketing Marina is a senior from Chicago, Illnois. Her internships included being a Sales and Marketing Intern at Kerrygold, Marketing and Community Outreach Coordinator at The State News, and Restaurant Management Intern at Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises. Her futur e career goal is to “change the way we eat food for the better through marketing and consumer insights data and other tools.” SheI aspire to change the way we eat food to be filled with more integrity, whether it be the way food is sourced to how it is preserved, and even what kind of material it is packaged in. She want to be the change within the food industry to promote honest food! Her goal within Destination Auction for this year is to not just make it a hospitality business student, faculty, and alumni event but also bring in outside students as well as other members of our community! She plans on doing this through vast social media marketing and promotion! |

I am from Novi, Michigan. This summer I spent working with eMatrix Energy Systems, participating in a sales and marketing internship. In the future I hope to work on the marketing team for a sustainable, and environmentally focused company. I am very excited to be working with Destination Auction, especially being in the position I am, as it allows me to work closely with the Lansing Humane Society, which I am very passionate about.
